Award Season How-to Feature // Hair and Makeup: Jeffrey Paul // Model: Alexandra Muyami with LA Models // Photography by: Nadia Pandolfo

Here’s Jeffrey’s advice on creating a legendary look for any award party or event! What’s hot this season? Black washed softly smoked eyes and a pop of color for lips!

Sparkly Shadow!
Use a soft Dior shadow with black sparkles to line the eye. Then sweep the shadow over the lid in an even motion using a flat brush.

Add some dimension!
Fill in the crease and outer corner of the eye with the black shadow

Dramatize the look with a liquid eye liner, such as Eyeko, along the lash line and sweeping outward and upward for that perfect subtle cat eye.

Add that POP!!
Add lots of black mascara and faux lashes to make the eye really pop.

Use Diorskin Nude Shimmer Instant Illuminating Powder to highlight the cheekbones and above the eyes to highlight the eyebrow and orbital bone. Blend into the crease of the eye to soften any strong lines of the black shadow.

Pucker up!
Use a bright scarlet red lipstick, such as Urban Decay Revolutionary Lipstick in “Bang” to brighten the lips. Jeffrey’s tip for choosing a lipstick: “If there are warm rich tones in the dress, choose a lipstick that has a rich warmth as well. Dramatic colors have to be lined perfectly, because imperfections are easily seen.”

And Jeffrey adds: “This look is to empower and support the fabulous clothing and event you are going to. Wear the makeup don’t let it wear you! Create a night of beauty!”
